Do what you love

The concept seems fairly simple, but so many people forget about this simple phrase of guidance. I can't tell you how many times I used to procrastinate my workout because I didn't like the exercises. I used to fall off the wagon all the time because I didn't want to do cardio. One day, something clicked and I realized that working out or being healthy doesn't have to include cardio. I discovered weight training and have been hooked ever since.

If you find yourself avoiding your daily workout, something needs to change. Pick up an active hobby that you can obsess over. I found hoop dance two years ago and can't seem to shake it. I enjoy what I do so much that I frequently lose track of time.

What are your hobbies? Do they help you reach your health/fitness goals?

  1. So true! Since the summer, I started trying all kinds of new exercise classes to see what I liked, and now I really look forward to my personal favorites (cardio boxing, spinning, pilates, weights...). Like you, I also used to also make excuses to avoid and procrastinate workouts that were just blah, but it's so much more fun to really enjoy working out!

The only thing that I do nowadays that I don't looovelovelove is running, but once I'm on the road I usually get in the zone, and for me, running is more about getting OUT of my comfort zone and challenging myself to push my own limits.
